About us
Our University of Music is situated in the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, which is over 850 years old and lies to the north of Hamburg. It is the only educational establishment of its kind in Schleswig Holstein, the northernmost province of Germany.
About 500 students from all over the world profit from the intimate atmosphere and the individual support of internationally renowned instructors. In our historic surroundings we offer superlative artistic instruction to budding instrumental and vocal soloists and future teachers and conductors alike. Great emphasis is placed on practical on-stage performances which can later lead to worldwide fame. During the semester we regularly invite the public to concerts in our two concert halls. Symphony and choral concerts, opera performances, examination concerts, live broadcasts and lecture concerts, class performances and studio concerts are only a selection of the wealth of events which allow our students to regularly present themselves to a wide public during the course of their studies. Since 1992 the chamber music concerts of the Lübeck Brahms Festival, which have meanwhile gained an international reputation, have attracted many concert visitors into our splendid concert halls.
For many students, studies are only possible with the assistance of a grant or some other form of extensive financial support. Would you like to make a contribution?
