The University of Music Lübeck does not only wish to retain memories of its past history and that of its former students but also to make current activities fruitful.
We would like to offer our former members a new place in their old home and allow them to participate in the life of the University. We hope to achieve a continuous exchange of experiences and present an opportunity to form and pass on new contacts. We are relying on you in this matter, as a former member of the University, whether as a student or member of staff, as a member of the Alumni Association or as someone who can give us tips as to where we can find any of our former members scattered across the world. Your help is urgently needed, as our database is very limited for the time before 1995 and we are only in the early stages of our address research.
Membership is naturally voluntary and free of charge. You can also choose which services you would like to make use of. If, for example, you wish to receive our concert programme by email but not our newsletters, this can be arranged.
It goes without saying that your data protection is of the utmost importance to us. Any information which you have given us relating to your person will be treated absolutely confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties without your permission.
What are the benefits to you?
- We will offer courses of further instruction with topics which are of interest to you. However, beforehand, we would like to discover your interests.
- There will a networking bulletin board on which you can search for former students and staff but also for up and coming musicians who are worthy of support and whom you, as a mentor, would like to accompany on the path to a fulfilling professional career.
- We are creating a forum on our Intranet exclusively for the use of former University members. You will be able to exchange opinions and place any questions that you would like answered.
- Tickets for concerts and other organised events of the University of Music Lübeck are available to you at a reduced price or free of charge.
- Once a year we will arrange a reunion for former University members with music and good food.
- Symposiums will be organised on special topics to create a platform for an exchange of experiences.
- Once a year a University magazine appears in which the most important events of the previous year and the plans for the year ahead are published.
- Your life will also be enriched through being a member of an interesting family with common interests.
