Luis Antonio Ramos Regino

Luis Ramos, born 1984 in Cali (Colombia), received his diploma in composition and flute in his hometown. At the University of Music Lübeck, he studied music theory with Oliver Korte and aural theory with Holger Best, with a focus on conducting with Gerd Müller-Lorenz, Kerstin Behnke and Frank Hube. At the Brahms Institute in Lübeck, he worked as a student assistant on the pilot project "Brahms-Gewidmet", as part of the long-term project "Bürgerliche Musikkultur in Deutschland im 19. Jahrhundert". In 2014, Ramos received the "Deutschlandstipendium" from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In 2016, he received his Master's degree in music theory from Ludwig Holtmeier at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg. Teaching positions followed in Lübeck, Freiburg and Karlsruhe. As part of the project "Integrative Listening", funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, at the Bern University of the Arts, he is working on his dissertation on the influence of Neapolitan teaching methods in music education at the Royal Chapel and Royal School for Boys' Singers in Madrid, supervised by Claudio Bacciagaluppi (HKB) and Felix Diergarten (HfM Freiburg). In this context, he was a junior researcher in the Institute of Interpretation at the Bern University of the Arts in 2017-2021. Since the summer semester of 2021, he has been a teacher for special tasks in music theory and aural training at the University of Music Lübeck.
