Inclusion as a study content in the programs of study at the MHL
At the latest when the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities came into force in Germany in 2009, the issue of inclusion also became relevant for the MHL. On the one hand, this concerns questions of access to the various courses of study and studyability, but especially the study contents in the teacher training and other music pedagogical courses of study. Currently, the topic is particularly focused on in the degree programs "Teaching Music", whereby inclusion-specific competencies are already integrated in a large number of modules and courses of the Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education and are taught within different formats. Cross-program goals also include the development of a uniform concept of inclusion, a university-wide discourse on the topic of inclusion and the development of a continuing education concept for MHL lecturers.
